Throughout my life, I have been accused of being too sensitive and too emotional. I've been told “let's talk about something more positive” or had someone change the subject when I bring up a social justice issue. However, to me ignoring these issues, repressing my feelings, or telling others their feelings are not valid is not an option. I want people to understand that emotions are not a weakness and how easy it can be to take direct action in our communities.

Beginner Sewing Class: Create Your Own Tote Bag or Throw Pillow

Dive into the world of sewing with our beginner-friendly class! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of sewing while crafting a practical and stylish tote bag or a cozy throw pillow. Learn on our Kingsmax machines or BYO-Machine. If you have a sewing machine in your closet that you have been waiting to get to know better, now is the time!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

🧵Sewing Machine Basics: Familiarize yourself with the essential features and functions of a sewing machine.

🧵Fabric Selection: Choose the perfect fabric for your project and learn how to cut and prepare it for sewing.

🧵Basic Stitches and Techniques : Master fundamental stitches and techniques to give your project a polished finish.

🧵Project-Specific Skills: Depending on your choice, you’ll either create a versatile tote bag, perfect for carrying groceries or books, or a charming throw pillow that adds a personal touch to any room. No prior sewing experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and have fun. In this workshop, we will learn about the process of screen printing and the basics of screen printing on fabric using water-based ink! Attendees will take home their own screen printed shirt! Blank tees will be available to print on but attendees are welcome to bring their own - just make sure it doesn’t have any texture!
