Oh, Hey.
We’re Tara and Jes and we are the co-founders of Fruits of Our Labor, a rowdy craft collective. Whether you’re bringing the team together or planning a night with your friends, we curate the tools and environment for a unique, memorable, and beautifully messy experience. We facilitate a judgement free zone where the process is the point. Attending a Fruits of Our Labor event will wake up parts of your brain you forgot existed. That fizzy, tingling feeling that you are getting in the back of your skull? That’s the dopamine being released while you let go, and make for the sake of making.
In past lives we were art directors, educators, servers, retail managers, event planners and caretakers. All that experience has brought us here, and we are excited to collaborate with you.
📍 We are currently based in Denver, CO and open to travel.
Our Approach
✽ Everyone is a creator.
Humans are designed to create. Left brain, right brain, introvert, extrovert, artist or CPA, Everyone is a creator.
✽ It’s about the process.
There is no "right way" to make art. We curate an encouraging and experimental environment for you to explore and get curious.
✽ Adults should play.
It’s therapy, it’s nature's antidepressant, it’s moving through a complicated emotion when needed.
Why FoOL?
✽ We handle everything. From supplies and setup to instruction and cleanup, we take the logistics off your plate so you can actually enjoy the event alongside your group.
✽ We come to you. We pop up at your office, venue, or space of choice, or host you at our makerspace in Denver's RiNo Arts District. Flexible format, no venue sourcing required.
✽ Inclusive by design. No artistic experience needed. Our workshops are built for every personality type, from the creative director to the spreadsheet devotee. Everyone leaves proud of what they made.
✽ Rooted in real event experience. Our founders are former art directors, educators, and event planners. We know how to read a room, manage a group, and deliver an experience that actually lands.
✽ Scalable and tailored to your group. Whether it's a team of 12 or a company-wide offsite, we customize the activity, budget, and format to fit your event goals and make your job easier.
✽ Customizable. While we have a set menu of workshops we are always excited about new ideas and are open to creating a unique workshop that matches your event’s theme.

What is the average cost per person for private events?
Pricing averages around $50 a person, for a 12 person event. This includes supplies and labor. Final costs of a FoOL experience can differ greatly depending on a number of variables. Per person cost goes down the more people in your party, and up the less. Contact us and we will get an estimate to you in a timely manner.
-
What if I want to book a workshop I don't see on your menu?
We love to create a custom concept! We have organized concepts around “black holes”, “the Wizarding World”, and Moulin Rouge”. These type of events will require more time and research, but we love them. Contact us to start to conversation!
-
Do you do corporate events?
Yes! We’d love to talk to you about your team-building, off-sites and corporate events.
-
How far in advance can I book?
We love a fellow planner! You can book as far in advance as you like. We do ask for at least 3+ weeks to properly plan, but can move fast if we have the supplies on hand.
-
What are your hours of operation?
We are available by appointment only.
-
How many people can you accommodate?
The answer really depends on where we are hosting the workshop and what the activity is. We have a minimum of 12 people for private events and can theoretically accommodate any # of participants at the right location.
-
Do you offer virtual events?
If you would like to adapt any of the current offerings to Zoom, give us a shout. We will need 3 weeks to ship out kits to participants.
-
Do you accept donations?
Of course! Please see the Donations page the most up to date information.
-
Where do you host events?
We currently host most events at the TAXI Maker Space, but love popping up at different locations. We can also come to your office, home or venue of your choosing.
-
Can I bring my pet?
Always check the location of the pop-up’s pet policy before bringing your furry friend. Many locations require them to be a service animal. We love doggos, but do not encourage bringing them to pop-ups. You will be busy working with your hands and making new friends. In the end it’s up to you, the location’s policy, and what you want your experience to be.
-
Can I bring my child?
Please check the age requirement of each class. Most of our events are 21+ or 18+, depending on the content. You must purchase one ticket per participant. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Do not bring your child, if it is not a class they can not participate in. Space is limited.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Fruits of Our Labor offers a 72-hour cancellation policy and will refund 100% of your ticket fee or re-book you to another workshop if done before that time frame. You must request to move to another class or cancel your spot at least 72 hours prior to class time. There are no exceptions. You are always welcome to gift your class to a friend if you cannot make it! No refunds for no shows.
Email us at cancel@fruitsofourlabor.co to request a cancellation or transfer.
-
Do you partner with other makers?
Yes! Please submit a proposal to us with your concept and what you are looking for in a partnership with us via the contact page. If would like to host your own workshop or event at the makerspace, please see this page.
-
Do you accept walk-ins?
To most events, yes! But, we strongly encourage purchasing tickets ahead of time. We have limited capacity and cannot guarantee entry.
-
What if I am late to a class?
Please TXT 720-728-1420 and let us know if you are more than 10 min late. We start 15-30 min after the listed start time depending on the contents of the workshop. We will do our best to catch you up, but this also disturbs the rest of the class. No refunds for no shows.
-
How much do I tip?
We by no means expect tips. We pay our staff fairly and above the minimum wage. If you would like to support our business beyond the invoice, please consider making a cash donation or leaving us a review on Yelp or Google.
-
Do you host kid's parties?
This is not our bread and butter, but we are always open to chatting and sending a recommendation if needed.
